Further to the previous announcement advertised at Tadawil site on 07/03/2010, Sahara Petrochemical Company announces that technology licensing agreements have been signed on Monday, May 17, 2010, / 03 Jumada II, 1431 AH by and between Sahara Petrochemical Company and Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maadin) on the one hand, and the German Audi (UHDE) on the other .
The agreements value is about (90) million SR. The project shall be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2012.The agreements include the following:
1. The project general framework agreement 2. The technology agreement 3. Operations design agreement, 4. Performance guarantee agreement 5. Equipment supply agreement 6. Technical services agreement
Thus, the German Audi (UHDE) technology shall be transferred to the caustic soda and ethylene dichloride project which is planned to be constructed at Sahara Petrochemical Company complex in Jubail Industrial City.
Engineer Esam F. Himdy, managing director of Sahara, declared that the caustic soda and ethylene dichloride project is a joint project between Sahara Petrochemical Company and Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maadin) by 50% each party, and the project shall use the German Audi (UHDE) technology. The project shall be completed , God willing, in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Engineer Saleh M. Bahamdan , Executive president of Sahara Petrochemical Company, said that production capacity of the project will be (250.000) tons of concentrated caustic soda per year, and (300.000) tons of ethylene dichloride, and that the project shall provide approximately (200) job opportunities , according to the gradual expansion of the company's projects.
